MUCH bigger, more impressive than people realize due to incompetent Russian propaganda. Reflects the energy and exhuberance of a confident, powerful land - a glimpse of her booming economy.
The boom in China during the last thirty years and the last twenty years in Russia shows how quickly things can move in a positive direction when the elephant-in-the-room no one dares to mention moves, or is made to move, elsewhere.
One of my subscribers recommended your stack to me.
I was born in the USSR.
Tired of being hated In scAmerica as are all things Russian , I consider how I might return, with no known family nor language skills.
But, da means yes. So I want to consider it. Especially as America escalation escalator proceeds , the citizenship of this evil land means less to me.
What do I seek? Maybe just to find some Russian. Speakers and raise me some Russian kids in scAmerica, or else possibly a return to my homeland before I get older become too feeble.
Also. I will bring my Russian mother's ashes home. Although maybe not to Moscow.
What I want from Russia other than merely being there?
Well. I couldn't hardly learn shit in America...so ideally a Russian education proper. I didn't get any education in am error ica.
Ideally I can move somewhere where folks can swim in open water. Tis okay if it is cold, I am good too about 55 farenheit.
Oh. And there are something like bath houses here. I can cite the south end and Dolphin club, both eject d me.
The dolphin didn't like my piana playin.
The south end kicked me out while I was in jail when I ran for mayor of SF killafornia.
ScKamala Harris put me into solitary isolation.
demoRats.
Obviously since I don't speak the russin language much, harashoe, maybe I can do something with English, like drive a taxicab in Donbass or teach English as a crappy language....
Regards.
Also I've been thinking I was never too happy as a jew because of what Isra Hell does. Id rather not have a religion than one I abhor.
But I do feel right at home in. Russian speaking church, as long as they don't force me to have a translator disturbing the services ....
I know that opinion is very common, but I very strongly disagree with it. I don't think people appreciate enough what a disaster communism was in Russa - tend to gloss it over, even among "anti-communists" in the West. But that's a long topic, perhaps I will explain more in future articles why I think so.
G'day Charles, yet if one looks objectively at the two countries average workers conditions and life and which is the better and prospects for the next generation then it appears the latent effects of the deformed workers state were not so bad. Yes Putin post soviet era played a big role but from a large handicap courtesy of the neo cons and traitors of the motherland.
I do look forward to your opinion re Soviet times and it's effects that you feel are present now or in the past.
Communists did not just win WW2: they housed millions in the Soviet Union and made the country powerful and prosperous. Communism is remembered positively throughout Russia and the country's communist party is the second biggest after Putin's party.
Amazing to me how you so ignorantly dismiss Soviet apartment blocks, which are still much liked by many people in Russia. You call them eyesores, but they are still to this day very practical and reliable, and they were usually not taller than several stories and built in sprawling green spaces. Those who lived in those blocks felt very close to their neighbours.
I've read many stories about how in recent years in Moscow, they began to knock down some of their Soviet-era apartment building in favour of new taller apartment blocks. This led to complaints from citizens that the changes made things worse, as people felt less connected with their surroundings. There was some press coverage about this.
To provide contrast, you post an image of what you consider to be a desirable apartment building with a cost of $100,000 for unit. But notice how there's no apparent sign of green spaces around it. The whole thing is concrete. This is apparently your dream for Russia. Something that looks indistinguishable from living in the West. Eyesores of a different kind - with modernized interiors, but impersonal, grey, lifeless exteriors.
I'm not saying I dislike what the Russians have done in Mariupol. I want to be supportive and I have seen some signs that there's been care put in to build playgrounds and green spaces. Whether it's on the same level as Soviet designs, I doubt it. The communists did pretty good work to mass house millions of people, and they did this quite thoughtfully. Showing images of buildings and streets destroyed by bombs doesn't get your point across as well as you think. After all, those were once beautiful neighbourhoods in what used to be thriving Soviet Ukraine.
Funny I just wrote about how I want to move back to Russia. Moreso and more as scAmerica escalates war. This makes me feel like I am on the wrong side of the world, in the jail America has become for all, or at least the poor
Excellent! I periodically present the positive things happening in Russia, positive economy, dropping abortion rate, dropping support for LGBTQ stuff, and that Russia wants conservative westerners to move there.
That last part is usually met with some derision and skepticism. I think people, even conservative Christians, haven’t shaken gotten over the decades of gulags in Russia in the past…. But then I ask, how safe is the US for conservative Christians?
Evangelicals seem to run America and conservative Christians seem blind to Trumps womanising and seem to idolise him, who is out after Christians in the states? They constitute the largest demographic.
I was glad to see this piece; it had been so long since the last one, I was beginning to think that maybe something had happened to make you give up writing here. Appreciate the effort to give such a detailed report!
I believe that unless there is some kind of dramatic turn-around in the West (which I suppose is possible, but who knows how likely), that it definitely is - if only by virtue of the fact that the best brains and people will move to Russia and contribute greatly to its future growth. Russia does not have enough people, which partly explains why the government is now welcoming immigrants from the West.
Great article, and as an answer to your question at the beginning - yes, I would most definitely be interested in soliciting your services re: immigration assistance. Being an American, I definitely like the idea of working with someone who is a born and raised American but also has extensive experience with Russia. Count me in!
Wonderful piece. Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it )
Blinding Russophobia affecting brains' clear thinking.
The boom in China during the last thirty years and the last twenty years in Russia shows how quickly things can move in a positive direction when the elephant-in-the-room no one dares to mention moves, or is made to move, elsewhere.
I very much agree.
Are you comparing this to how the US rebuilt Iraq and Afghanistan?
sick joke
Putin is St. Vladimir resurrected!
Putin built 10,000 new churches in 25 years.
I propose he be designated St. Vladimir II when he is gone.
My dad Vlad is already performing miracles by preventing the demise of all Womanity

Thank you, but I think the dig against communism is not needed. Not to blame, and they did win WW2!

A real leader, thank you Mr. Putin, well done.

For the coming months I plan to keep writing here, actually more than this Fall, which got terribly busy. I enjoy it when I can find the time.
Thanks - I enjoy it when you can find the time, too. :)
Excellent decision Mr Putin.
Looks like The Russian Federation is the modern Noah's Ark!

I see it as Constantinople after the fall of Rome.
Yes there are some similarities.
