I was once told by a UkroJudaeoNazi woman in the West that "all Russian women are fat and ugly".

She was lying and had she looked in a mirror would have probably shut up. Or maybe not. I think my response to her expressed that.

Maria Butina is an inspiration and beautiful from the inside out. I have to confess, I was miffed at her cozying up with the NRA and what I saw as trying to export US gun culture to Russia. I do not trust any imports from the West.

I wondered what had happened to her; another spectacular article Charles - thank you. She is an amazing person; compassionate, curious, communicative, driven, tough as steel apparently. In short, Russian! I hope she joins Twitter, since there is a small window open right now of quasi-free speech, and she could really reach Americans with her language skill and experiences here. Americans need to know about Russians, and what is best about Russia, now more than ever. Essentially what you are doing in your work. Bravo Charles!

Curious if there are job opertunities for young aggressive minded Americans looking for work? If I were a younger man I would go to Russia knowing what I do today. There are currently many untapped and talented human resources wasting away in todays America's Neoliberal economy.

Yes there are. This is one of the most surprising things I've learned while researching for this series. I didn't realize how dynamically Russian companies are expanding, and the larger ones often are interested in Westerners, even if they don't speak Russian. I've heard of many such opportunities in the course of my work, not really looking for them. I also have noticed among Russian acquaintances in middle and upper management that many are encountering a lot of opportunities and pay and responsibility raises because there just aren't enough skilled professionals here to deal with all the growth. Interesting times.

I am a retired senior software engineer but am still very involved in the work and keeping abreast of current trends in technologies...

For example, a company called WiseJ.Net, has just released a new version of their product, which now allows .NET web developers return to the days of WebForms development, which was faster to develop, easier to learn, and just as efficient as the Microsoft development environments that are being promoted today, the latter of which has proven to be difficult to learn, overly complex to allow for efficient deadline estimation, and has caused so many complex issues that many in this area of the profession are looking to quite and find new employment.

Would Russia be interested in the talents of retired, senior, personnel in the software industry?

I would say very much so. They have an urgent need for all IT people of any level. I know that for a fact because I have friends in the industry here and they keep telling me this. Russians are flocking to IT training programs to raise their qualifications so that they can get the jobs, which pay better than others here.

What would then be the best resources to set up a trip to Russia?

We would be coming from the States and right now the only airline I would trust outside of Aeroflot is Austrian Airlines. To my knowledge, this airline has only a single minor incident in the 1950s, demonstrating a similar stellar record as the famous TWA US airline.

If we come, our goal would be to meet with ex-pats and discuss with them how they are finding the adjustment to living in Russia and what would be available to us to have a little of home come with us. For example, we enjoy watching British, French, and German drama...

There are also many opportunities for entrepreneurship here, and many examples of expats coming here and setting up successful small businesses - cafes, barber shops, all sorts of things.

Thank you for responding. If I were a younger man I would but currently my hope is my son. He is Christian very talented like yourself and full of enthusiasm. His grandfather on his mother's side immigrated from Ukraine some years ago. My son has formal education in physics and math currently working as a construction materials bid estimator and customer contact publiic relations representative. I do talk with him about visiting Russia but he is young and always busy with his job. As job opportunities and economy further decline my wish is he like his grandfather before him, this time emigrate back to Russia for his sake and the sake of my future grandchildren.

Btw there is a orthodox Russian church here not to far and thought him and I could attend where hopefully someone from Russia could talk with him.

Again thank you for your reply.

What an amazing story, and an amazing woman! Sadly, such like her are increasingly rare on these shores. As this ship of fools steers toward a nonbinary dystopia, I can only pray many of our more traditional youth migrate and settle in the RF. If I were a young man, seeing the cultural (and physical) collapse of my beloved land, I would make that journey. The treatment she received in prison, and that of her fellow inmates was atrocious. I am sure Russia has its problems, prison conditions or otherwise, at least they returned to sanity, to Christ, even if it is a cultural Christianity. I wish them peace, harmony, and prosperity; pray for us left behind here.☦️

From the subheader I guess there were supposed to be links to some chats, but alas I don't see them. And truly, Maria is a great woman.

It seems that so many good things came from Maria's prison time. She sounds lovely and genuine, and I think she's doing good work in the sense that it's God's work. Many blessings to her!

Yeah, that occurred to me also, that as miserable as the experience was, her interaction with the other inmates turned out to be a valuable thing she wouldn't otherwise have had. She told me that she bonded very well with the black inmates, which was a surprise to her, having not had much interaction with blacks before that. And jail brought her closer to her faith. Her book deals a lot with the problem of bad conditions in US prisons which she saw for other inmates too, and their stories of experiences in other jails. Hard times are often the most valuable in the end.

Yeah, she needs help.

I actually asked her about that and she said she still follows people she was following in 2018! Russian elites have no idea about what's going on in Western media. All this talk from our deep state about them being dangerous propaganda geniuses is just a lot of bunk meant to get more funding from us taxpayers. In fact, they are really bad at it. It becomes blindingly obvious when you live here for a while and see what they actually do in the info space.

Many people are fooled... still. "Many people have a weak spot in their brains for Little Nell, summer sunsets and the end of a perfect day." I misquote (probably) Huxley. Please forgive.
